Today's picture was taken in 1943, and it shows a welder enjoying an ice  cream after work. the picture was taken in the Bethlehem shipyard in Baltimore, Maryland.

  1. I wonder what prompted the photographer to take this picture? Just capturing a particular moment on the job?

  2. Going back to the picture of the Baskin Robbins, we had one of the last Dolly Madison Ice Cream Stores down near our hardwood lumber supplier. This was in an industrial area of town and Dolly Madison was also a wholesale ice cream vendor.

Anyway, it had wood paneling and stools at an old fashioned ice cream counter. I'd always get a chocolate marshmallow malt milk shake whenever I went down there to buy hardwoods. It didn't get any better than that.
